Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my last shootings, show behind the scenes videos and pics. Hope you have a nice stay!

My own stone from outer space

My own stone from outer space

My grandfather proudly displayed his mineral collection behind a beautiful glass window, showcasing it to every guest who visited. People often contributed new specimens to his collection, adding to its diversity. Once, he received a heavy metallic stone that was said to be a meteorite. Whether he ever verified its authenticity or not, he passed down the story that this object had traveled through the cosmos to reach our Earth. This simple tale, attached to an uncanny physical object, ignited years of scientific passion among all his grandchildren, instilling in us a deep sense of curiosity and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge.

Scientific imageries carry the meticulous detail and precision aura of scientific discovery, grounded in rigorous methodologies and empirical evidence. As scientific knowledge spreads into the public realm, it transforms through creative reappropriation and reinterpretation.

This project depicts this metamorphosis, blending cultural codes of scientific imagery with elements of simplification, adaptation, and reinterpretation but also open possibilities for narratives that go beyond the rules of reality.

Using a wide range of cameras, lenses, telescopes, microscopes, my photographs capture this dynamic interplay, illustrating how public interpretations and applications of scientific knowledge lead to new questions and areas of inquiry.

Abstract and uncanny compositions symbolize these new narratives, showcasing speculative, innovative, and philosophical dimensions that arise from public engagement with science, scientific beliefs or misinterpretations. These newly formed narratives, can in turn, inspire the scientific community, creating a continuous feedback loop. My photographs capture this dynamic interplay, illustrating how public interpretations and applications of scientific knowledge lead to new questions and areas of inquiry.

This process is ongoing and cyclical. Just as the Knife described in Theseus paradox remains a knife despite its changing components, scientific knowledge retains its essence even as it evolves with popular interpretation. This photo project captures this essence, highlighting the fluid and interconnected nature of knowledge, identity, and change in science and society.
